Two poachers executed in Assam national stop

Guwahati: At minimum two poachers were killed by woods watches in Assam`s Orang national stop on Tuesday, an authority said.

Assam`s Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Bikash Brahma affirmed on Tuesday that the poachers had entered the recreation center with the aim to kill one-horned rhinos.

"The occurrence occurred around 1 a.m. today (Tuesday). The timberland watches heard a discharge and propelled an operation promptly. The poachers terminated at the watchmen when made a request to surrender. Two poachers were executed in the following gunfight," Brahma said.

Assam, Dhemaji Assembly by-decision Results 2017: BJP's Ranoj Pegu wins

Guwahati: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) pioneer Ranoj Pegu wins Assam's Dhemaji get together by-survey by an edge of 9,285 votes on Thursday.

The by-decision was required as BJP official Pradan Baruah challenged and won the byelection to the Lok Sabha from the Lakhimpur voting public. Sarbananda Sonowal abandoned the seat subsequent to winning from the Majuli get together body electorate on turning into the Chief Minister.

Aggregate of five applicants were in the shred. Fundamental challenge was between BJP's Ranoj Pegu and Congress' Babul Sonowal.
